My sweet girl was in and out of eggbound issues. We did soaks and lube and it would slide back in, but would reoccur a day or two later. I thought for sure today was her last day, but we were able to get the blockage out. She is very weak and can barely walk. She’s lost a lot of weight. Do chickens usually recover quickly from this or should I expect to still lose her?

Chickens are some of the most resilient critters I have ever met and can recover from some horrific things. I hope your girl recovers!
I would try feeding scrambled eggs as much as she will eat.
Are any other chickens having issues? Do you have extra calcium sources available?
She looks like a RIR and I had so many different health issues with my RIRs, but each one had a different issue.
Again, I hope she recovers.

How long was she egg bound? It appears tor be a lash egg from salpingitis. Can you cut it half and take another picture?
I have never seen one so perfectly round before. Here is some reading:

Actually, this makes a lot of sense. It didn’t look like an egg to me. She got pretty sick like 6 months back and we thought she was going to die. Bleeding from her vent. Thought she had sour crop. She stopped laying after that and we joked that the illness gave her a hysterectomy. So this would be the most likely cause. Man that stinks though.
