Still young and I'm still new to chickens (my first chickens ever). I've been doing a lot of reading on different methods of sexing. This is one of our 3 easter eggers which were supposedly sexed as chicks to all be pullets. I will post pictures of the other 2 for reference but the one I am referring to is the dark one. They were all purchased out of the same batch and the brown ones feather development has been on par, if not a little bit faster than the other two but the tail is getting pretty long. Idk, I'm probably just another joe schmoe beating this topic to death but I would like to hear some feedback if possible and what traits the community uses as tell tale signs. They are about 5 weeks old at this point. Thanks! Top 2 images is the dark one in question. The bottom 2 I'm pretty sure are pullets

I’d say suspect male bc of the comb. But EE are simply mixed breed that lay a colored egg. Wait until they are closer to 12 weeks to be sure.

we bought 3 EE with our first chicks and one was a male, supposed to have been sexed female. But, there is approx 10% sexing error rate.

I agree that they're still a little young to sex, but that there's a good chance the first one is a cockerel.

Feather sexing won't work with most breeds, and not usually with this cross.

Out of curiosity, what traits tell you that it may be a cockerel?

Interesting. I read that I forget what age the comb on a cockerel will develop 3 ridges and the pullets will remain as it is. You guys are more than helpful. Thank you!
