how do i train chickens to lay eggs in nest boxes?

I put golf balls in the nest boxes. That's all I've ever done, and the girls lay in the nestboxes.

X-3.I had the fake eggs in the nest box's probably a month before they started laying. I was wondering if I could take them out after they start using the boxes.
