Eggs almost ready to pip

I'm saying yes they are ancona. I was told by the feed store they were runner ducks. I looked up several sites and that's why I say yes. They are short and squatty and don't look at all like the runners I've seen. Here is a picture of the male we had to rehome. Tell me what you think about him being a runner or ancona? He may be the ducky daddy, but more likely one similar looking, except for black feet and a puff on his head. The Ducky Moma is solid black with shimmers of green, blue and purple when the sun is bright. Not much help, but it's dark outside and I don't want to go rile everyone up. And no "way to go" on the roo! I want to keep it but if it starts being ugly, he'll have to go :(
 
Yep I'd say Ancona . Roosters can be a pain. We are limited to how many any types we can have in this town. Zoning law not the best. Can only have 6 . And roosters would be a problem. That's why I like ducks.
