Eggs Already??? So soon???

My hens are just 3 months old and yesterday I found 3 eggs in one of the nests!!! Really??? This soon?? I thought they start laying at about 5-6 months???

They are Red Sex Links and Barred Rocks. The eggs are really small though, is it because they are still very young??

Congrats! Sounds like you have pullet eggs It's probably those sex links doing all the laying, they start early, though I've heard more like 16 weeks, not 12! The eggs should get bigger over time. Enjoy em

Does she have access to layers feed? With her being young you will defiantly have to make sure she gets all the nutrients she needs especially calcium to help prevent any laying issues. Also yes they are safe to eat.

Are you sure they are 3 mos and not 4 mos old? If they are really 3 mos old, it could be a world record!
