SF lay big eggs and bantams lay little ones..ok, I know that. I know that a SF roo over a bantam hen still has a small egg and I would guess that a bantam roo over a LF hen would still produce a lg egg...right? What about the chicks that hatch? I would guess that the chicks hatching from the LF hen's eggs would be larger than the eggs the bantam hen's eggs. I would think that the hen's breed determines egg size to some extent at least.
So if you are only crossing two different breeds and if the chicks from the large eggs hatch out larger than the the ones from the bantam hen, what about their mature size in comparison???? Will the chickens from the LF x bantam cross and the chickens from the bantam x LF cross end up being the same size?????
