eggs and tumors

I have a lovely black copper maran hen. She lays every day. Yesterday I thought she had a broken leg but she was walking normal. When I examined her closer I found an egg size tumor hanging off the top of her leg. My question is are her eggs edible?

Welcome to BYC. Yes, I think her eggs would be fine. Was she vaccinated for Mareks disease? Does the mass feel firm, or soft like an abscess or infected wound?
