Hello guys my eggs are fertilized and I was expecting to maybe have 6 or 7 new chickens but they just keep laying eggs so now I have about 23 fertilized eggs. Am I doing something wrong or is that just normal. How do I keep from having so many fertilized eggs? And what do I do with them? Thank you.

Well I would have to say that's normal but we may need some more details of whats going on. Do you have roosters? How many hens did you have before? Are you hatching yourself?

Yes I have 4 hens and 1 rooster. And hatching myself. I'm confused and definitely a newbie but I love it, so my thought was they would hatch on there own. Thank you some much for the reply.

How old is your flock? They do not hatch on their own. The hen would need to sit on them or be put in an incubator.

They have been laying for about 2 months now. And there is definitely something going on based on when I cracked one open it had the same thing Google showed me the early stage of a chick developing.

But have your hens been constantly sitting on them? Otherwise they will die if they haven’t already.
