My poor Silkie hen can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I checked on the 8 D'uccle eggs under her this morning and two are currently pipped and all but two are either chirping or pecking inside of their eggs! I had candled all of them Monday and they all looked great. I'm expecting what may be the best hatch I've ever had! Gotta love those broody birds.

Awesome...

I have a broody on 8 eggs that I candled last Saturday. She's at the halfway point... 10 more days...
I just wish I didn't have to pull out one or two eggs laid in her box by her coop mates everyday.
It was comical, I watched one lay an egg right on top of her, the egg rolled of her back and she promptly put it under her and the other hen walked out of the box and starting singing.....

Help me here. I have a broody duck on 20 eggs. Yes 20. Her mate completely ATTACKS anyone or anything that tries to even come close. Snow is due Friday. I think I need a big stick and an umbrella.

Can you have someone hold him while you get her and the eggs?
