hey everyone! Recently i put new nesting boxes into me pen and i took my old ones out. After i put the boxes in i noticed all me eggs were getting layed on the ground and not in the nesting boxes. i tried to show the chickens by putting them in the nesting boxes but that didnt work. Any suggestions what to do?

Chickens are creatures of habit and don't take kindly to change. You may find it helpful to "bait" the boxes with golf balls, fake eggs, etc. Where are the new boxes relative to where three old boxes were?

Mine took ages to use nrw ones. I had drawers from an old chest of drawers but they were getting pooped in through the night and just meant to be temporary. Replaced them with real nest boxes which are covered in. Put them in the same spot and they hated them. After afew months they use them but it's still hit and miss and i find eggs on the floor.

Ooo I love those...made a wooden facsimile as they were too big for my coop.
Huge improvement over the buckets!
But big change for the birds.

Should just take some time for them to acclimate to the new nests.
Have you put fake eggs in new nests...with lots of nice fluffy bedding??
Have you put a bird up there in one...or seen them checking them out at all?
