I have for Easter Egger pullets that I raised from chicks. About 5 days ago I started getting small beautiful blue-green eggs none of my other chickens should be laying that color and even if they did it would be much bigger. I've gotten one every other day since the first one, the only problem is that the pullets are only 10 weeks old much too early for Easter Eggers or most breeds to start laying. the mystery is I also have a Easter Egger-silkie cross that should be coming into lay she is 6 months old. But since she is an Easter Egger cross the silkie I'm assuming her eggs would be lighter in color and since she is like two times the size of the 10-week olds I assumed her eggs would be a little larger. Does anyone have any way to tell which chickens are laying and have any advice for me on this? Is it possible that one of the 10 week old could be laying already?

Okay thanks for the help everyone, the only thing I forgot to say was like I said the eggs are very dark which I didn't think would come from EE-SILKIE CROSS and also I have two coops which share a common run the eggs are in the coop that the babies going to at night, the eggs are always found in the morning and I don't lock them in at night but I don't think that EE cross would be disobeying the rooster and going in there at night maybe I'm wrong I Don't Know.

Well mystery solved tonight I went to do a night check on them and one of the 10-week olds was in the nesting box trying to lay an egg she was breathing pretty hard and looked like she was struggling when I looked at her event it was pulsing as I have seen when my hens are about to lay.

It still amazes me that they can be laying at 10 weeks but oh well maybe I just pick the best of the bunch LOL has anyone ever had this happen?

The vent can pulse for other reasons, like when a bird is breathing hard.
Is it hot where you are?
