The eggs I ordered from ebay came in earlier than expected. So we fired up the incubator and will let it run for 24 hours since from what i understand the eggs should rest for 24 hours too before putting them in the incubator. I figured this way we can stabilize the temp and humidity. I'm wondering if it would be okay to wait till Friday to put them in or is earlier better. I'm hoping the turner I ordered will come in so we can start out with it. I would love to see a better hatch rate this time. We are so excited!

Hi! What type of eggs are they? I myself have 2 separate hens one with 3 chicks hatched yesterday and the other on 6 eggs due to hatch in a week and a half. Both seramas but the father is a frizzle polish so they should be very unique!!!.
the eggs should be fine. It only depends how old they are. Im not an expert but it you have a place in the 50-60s F to store in they should be fine until you put them in the incubator. Good luck on your hatch!! It's so cute when you can hear the chicks peeping in their shell and then when they start pipping and you can see their little beaks!!! Obsession!! Weirdo me.

Thank you. I guess to be on the safe side we will put them in the incubator tonight then when the turner comes in we can quickly put it in then let it go. It's a bit hard here in tucson to find a place with temps that low with the exception of the refrigerator then it will be too cold LOL!!!!

OOOOPssss....I didn't answer your question. They are silkie eggs so quite small.

I know I'm late to the party, but I think fresher eggs always do better, so I think you're wise to put the eggs in when you did.

Yeah I don't have a place either. My garage is the closest thing but it's way too humid. Not sure why. But yeah I think eggs last like 7-10 days in cool temps but it's not recommended to wait that long. I agree with sphinx

well the eggs seem to be doing fine tight now. so glad i didn't wait for the turner because its stuck in florida because of weather. so we are hand turning
