So my Orpington started out laying a sort of dark cream colored egg and now she is laying straight up dark brown (beautiful!) eggs. Not progressively getting darker just an abrupt change. Is this just her maturing or something I should be concerned about? D4A572A3-E590-4C49-8227-51BB5D437F42.jpeg

U don't think it's anything to be concerned about. I'be never seen it, but most orpingtons I know only lay cream eggs, occasionally a slightly darker color, but not that dark. It'seems probably nothing to worry about

White Australorp, Buff Orpington, and an Easter Egger. I was thinking maybe it was my EE but the eggs are large normal sized eggs and my other two paid tiny eggs at the start.
It might be your Australorp, but good point, they are quite large for first eggs. See if you can catch the chicken in the act. ;)
