I got my first egg from my BR Pullet Penelope on February 1st, 2011!
I haven't gotten an single egg from my chickens since August of 2010.
Since she started laying I now have 2 other hens laying! And it looks like at least another 4 hens are going to start laying anytime soon! Including 2 of my orginal hens from my 1st flock. They are both 5 year old EE hens (Marshmallow and Blueberry). I call them "The Easter Egger Sista's".
It is so exciting when they start!
We seem to have hit the jackpot-Our girls started laying the last week of October and they have been steady all winter (so far). 30 hens, averaging 20-26 eggs per day. This is the first time we have had chickens in many years and have been very happy with them.
