That's probably how they update these days.

It depends on where you are. In urban areas, that makes sense. One Google street view showed my old roommate's dad taking their dog for a walk!

In rural areas, that doesn't make as much sense. It costs a lot to hire someone to go driving around roads that may not be paved or in good shape to get street views of one house every mile or so.

My town is only 1,500 people and in the middle of nowhere and Ive seen the Google maps camera car drive by my house twice in the last 8 years. They still come around even rural its crazy! Its more about how often it actually gets updated haha

I do it all the time accidently, I'll click into a thread from my notifications but that brings me to the last reply I did or someone did to me and start reading whats happened since but on super active threads that could be days and multiple thread pages ago haha

They might come by soon. They recently drove by here again.

I google my own house sometimes and the picture got updated in google map, so I say it is 1 every 2 years.

I'm glad I can say that they haven't update the Google Earth picture of our property in decades.

Just went to Google Earth to see if that was still true. Nope, not going to download any apps, so I guess I won't know.

You did remind me of what happened yesterday. In this conversation it was mentioned that military bases and power plants don't show up on Google maps navigation. I had to go to a power plant yesterday... I rely on Google maps too much, perhaps. Doesn't mean I follow it blindly, but it is weird when it just shows nothing.
