My boss built his chicken bedrooms by making 4 section rooms just big enough for a chicken and putting astroturf in each cublicle. They are open from the front so chickens can hop in when every they need to think about laying an egg. The 2 bedroom suites are raised off the gound by 2 cement blocks underneath for support.
I did not know where the eggs that were normally laid and left in the chicken suites by the laying hens and it seemed I was short one or two. The "coop' was created out of a horse stall in a barn by putting large metal screen which is 1/16th of an inch steel wire mesh with doors.Sure enough before I locked up the coop and shut the door for the night I found a cute little skunk for lack of better name I will call "Pepe le Pue" He was about a foot long with a white bifurcated stripe down his back which looks more like an long white elipse. Any case releasing him back out into the wild does not do any good because he knows where the food source is. Anyone got any good ideas where I can send him ? He has not sprayed me yet but I usually am very calm and careful around him and try not to upset him, My boss has suggested doing him in(shoot him) because he says animal control will not do anything. I do not think that is the best alternative. Would love to find a good home for him or her (do not know enough about skunks to tell). Ideas or suggestions? [email protected]
