Eggs everyday

Hello,

I have two silkie ladies, one is a mini-mini (tiny) and the other one just normal mini.
they are almost 6 months old that tiny one just started laying eggs 3 weeks ago and has laid one every day since. I didn’t even notice the first 4(!) that appeared in the coop in between cleaning.

is it normal that she is laying an egg per day? I thought silkies would lay lot less than normal chickens. I also wasn’t expecting she would start at 5 months old yet.. The bigger chicken has not started yet

That’s kinda rare, but I don’t see why not. How do you know the other chicken isn’t laying?

I check in the morning, she always lays during the day and makes her way to their house, the other one just stays in the yard. We collect the egg when she comes out

In my experience, young laying pullets lay crazy amounts and then after the year mark slow down to their breed's normal until around 2.5 years old.
