Eggs fertilized

I have two breeds of chickens in the same place but i want to hatch a chicken with the clean breed so i decided to put him in a cage next(one of them breeds) .SO my questions is how long one egg is fertilized from one rooster ?

2 weeks is a safe bet but some can stay longer. I had a duck stay fertile 3 weeks after i bought her with no boy.

Wait for a few egg's to be layed.. Then all you have to do is crack "1- 4"open, check for the white "target" bullseye. Then you will know if they are fertile.. Keep us posted.. Can you post photo's?? What breed ?

The hen needs to be off the undesired rooster for at least 2 weeks for his sperm to clear her system.
