Hello all. My daughter's science teacher is incubating eggs in the classroom and I have told them I will donate some of our eggs. We have a free range flock whith all hens that go to nesting boxes that my husband built. We have an assortment of breeds of hens and a Cuckoo Marans rooster. They have asked for 6 eggs to incubate. My question is should I be looking for particular color or larger size or anything special when deciding which six eggs to give to them? And is it best to take the newest from the day they incubate or would that even matter?
Thanks for any help. I've raised most of my chicks but never hatched my own.

You want eggs with nice flaw free shells. The newest is the best.
