Eggs for sale sign ideas?

What would be cool would be a wooden sign that says "Eggs for sell"
Then underneath the lettering (kinda like how they did on old baseball signs), mount some little hooks and make little chalkboard signs that can hang on them.
You will be able to write duck or chicken eggs and even a price if wanted.
Then you could take them down or flip them over when your out.

I work in the printing business and can tell you those signs are not cheap. A better option would be to make a seperate sign that says SOLD OUT and attach velcro to it so you can just put it in place. Also...set it up yourself whatever size you want it to be in publisher or powerpoint. Then make a PDF file before submitting to your printer. Often times they charge a design or set up fee if you dont provide a file or it isnt set up correctly

Don't count your egg sales before they are laid.
Here's some thoughts that might take a making a sign right off the board.

Are you really going to have enough eggs to sell to the general public?
Do you really want the general public coming to your door(or yard) at all hours?

I have a 1-2 dozen layers and only need about 3-4 customers, some extras in spring, to consume all they lay...plus what I eat. Sometimes in slow production times, fall molting/winter rest, my customers have to buy eggs from someone else.
Sorry, logic and 5 years experience, sometimes poops on the party.

I have taking my sign down now that I am established and have a great clientele.
My sign was causing people who drove by to stop at my gate and keep blowing their horns.
Causing me to walk back and forth an acre of property to ask how many etc. Even though my phone # was on the sign, hardly they would call ever- just blow horns.

Now that I have a good regular customer base, EVERYBODY calls and announces when they will be coming. No more horns and just barging on a whim.

I made my sign out of a piece of 1 x 6 wood and used those wooden letters you get at Joanns or Hobby Lobby. It simply said Fresh Eggs For Sale. Then on the bottom I attached two small hooks and made a small sign, again with the wooden letters, that said yes on one side and no on the other side. I just turned the yes or no around and people then know to stop or not. I painted the sign dark brown and the letters were a cream color. Easy to read. HTH!

Heres another idea in case you dont want people coming to your door at all hours: farmers markets. I know our local TSC lets people sell their eggs and crafts about once or twice a year
