Eggs for sale

We got 6 hens last march and are now ready to start selling a few of our extra eggs. We still have 4 kids in the house so we only expect to have 1-2 dozen spare eggs per week so we are hoping to find a few neighbors to purchase eggs. Tonight we made up a label and gave away 1 dozen eggs to a few of our neighbors. this is what we came up with.

Selling eggs may vary by different area. Some may have to conform to USDA rules and regulations. I never sold my extra eggs, but I did give them away to certain neighbors.

thanks for sharing that michigan information... I spent a few mins looking for michigan laws and only found some huge documents that I did not have the time or patience to sift through.

I am hoping we get a couple of neighbors that are interested in buying our surplus.

Michigan is pretty lax. The only requirement is you can't sell to food establishments unless you are MRAD licensed.

Most states require you to block out any grading, sizing on the carton and have your physical address on carton.
