Eggs freezing

My only worry is if the hensnotice it warmer in the boxes they might start sleeping in them
That's a valid concern and I commend you with that forethought.

I think for me, if I get serious with rigging up some heat tape or something similar, I would only intend on using it when I plan to be away for the day. Most of the time I'm here and I can pick them often enough...lol.
 
If your coop is dry and draft free, the girls do not need the extra heat...

When they exit a nesting box without additional heat, the nest is warmed, warmer than the heated box without a laying bird.

Ask yourself why don't they stay in the warm nesting box all night? ...

Many do heat their nesting boxes to avoid the frozen egg issue. I have done so now for several years.

Fact is my girls do not spend any more time in a heated box than necessary.
