eggs from incubator to hatcher

when you take your eggs out of the incubator and put them in a hatcher do you lay them down or stand them up thanks for the replies

I leave mine right in the bator.As the humidity may be different in the hatcher.You can do either,flat or point down.I also leave the turner going.Chicks very rarely get crushed from the turner.My personal experience is better hatching with turner on.

I lay them on their side and keep the turner going. In the wild mom never stops turning the eggs so I don't either.

I turn of the turner at day 18 and raise the humidity to 65. I was going with 75% humidity finding birds that drowned. And I always leave them in the incubator for 1 day until all have hatched. Opening the incubator as chicks are hatching can get them shrink wrapped inside the egg killing them. I forget what the thin layer of skin on the inside of the shell is called but that is what I'm refering to. Humidity plays a major role in hatch rate.

In the hatcher I’d lay all the eggs out on their side. Temp and humidity is different in the hatching period. However if your hatching just one batch you can use the incubator as a hatcher changing the humidity and temp accordingly and turning the cradle off prior to hatching, this enables the eggs not to roll around and also the chick inside the egg will stop moving allowing it to pip in one area.
