Eggs from nest to incubator?

I'm wanting to incubate some eggs from my flock. I was wondering if I can pull them straight from the nest and into the incubator?? Do they have to sit at room temperature for a while first? I've even seen that they should sit at around 55°F at an angle for a while?? Can someone clear this up for me please!!

You could do that, but it is best to gather as many as you want to incubate and start them all at the same time. Staggered hatches are generally a nightmare.
