I have been surprised this week when my girls( 4 3yo mix-1 nh red age?-3 6yo mix) consistantly lay 6 eggs a day so either the younger ones(3 year olds, 1 unknown age nh red)are doing doubles or one of my 6 yo's is still laying. do they normally have THAT many years to lay?

There are folks on the forum who report getting occasional eggs from their eight plus years chickens.

yea...i believe that unless they are ornamental chickens....they will lay as long as they live.....that may be exagerated, cuz they DO run out of eggs at some point in their lives but at 10 years they could still lay 1 a month or something and they are still technically laying
