I have been incubating eggs and it is now day 13. 12 out of 13 eggs seem to be doing pretty well. I was wondering if it was ok to stop turning the eggs and increase the humidity day 16 instead of day 17. My incubator takes awhile to be accurate on the humidity and I don't want to take my chances opening the incubator on day 18 if the humidity is to high or low. Any help appreciated! Thanks!!:)

Candle and check the air cells. If they look too big, raise the humidity up now. If they look like they need to grow some more, wait till day 18. It is always better to open up the incubator and add water during hatching than letting it just go dry. Remember that a broody hen will get off the nest everyday, even if there are chicks pipping. A few seconds of opening the incubator is not going to do any serious harm.

I got a brilliant idea from someone here, feed a fish tank filter line through the ventilation holes in you incubator directly to the channels, then feed water into the tube using a syringe of sorts, then you can easily add water without having to open it!
