I got a new incubator and this is my first time hatching eggs in it. It was day 17 yesterday and it was so far so good but i moved them off the automatic egg turner onto the grid to get them ready for lockdown. The temperature on the digital thermometer stays consistently where it should be but when I turned the eggs the ones on the far left side felt really hot whereas the ones on the right felt normal. Im afraid the incubator heater blower vent system thingy cooked the chicks on that side, how do i see if they are still alive? Im gunna have an aneurism

I have only done one hatch myself, so I am not an expert, but I would say the only way to know for sure is candling them and looking for movement. But if your in lock down now you would need to do this quickly as to minimize the amount of time they are out of the incubator. Personally if it were me, I would look at it this way. What's done is done, there is nothing you can do to undo what happened. You are this far in, just leave them in the incubator. You are not going to change the end result, and you are more likely to discard eggs that may be okay, or cause stress to the ones that are fine by opening the incubator and compounding the problem.

Rotate the eggs in different positions and away from your hot spot. They should still be good to hatch. 99.5 and 65 to 70% humidity. During lockdown just monitor your temperature and humidity make adjustments as needed. Make sure your air hole is open to let the eggs breathe.
