I had a broody that I had thrown some fertile silki eggs under from another hen. 10 hours later I found fertile Cream Legbar eggs, which i jumped on and put under. I had an expected hatch date of the 10th. but today I found one hatched and dead silkie and two more looking healthy. The legbars don't seem to be making any sound yet. I'm wondeirng will the hen stay around or will she try to pick open the eggs early. Should I pull the chicks to get her to keep sitting. I'd rather have the legbars then silkie mutts (it was SLWxSilkie) it'd be a shame if they don't even hatch.
