I bought some fertle eggs and put them under my broodie 23 days ago. They have not hatched and do not smell. I have not been able to see anything when candeling them. I dont know how long to leave them there. Could they still be viable? If they are not viable wouldnt they smell?

I dont know what to do next.

    On the MN prairie.

I would give it just a couple of more days. No, they don't always smell bad when they aren't viable.

I agree with the other person, I'd give them maybe three more days and then break the eggs one at a time (just in case you do find something in one of the eggs, you can put the others back). Sometimes if there are many eggs or your hen likes to get up a lot, it takes longer for the little guys to develop. That might be your case. Best of luck! :)
