Hello,
I just went out of town for five days during a heat wave. Our house-sitter did a great job keeping my hens cool and with plenty of water, but did not collect eggs. So I now have 20 eggs that were all laid in the last five days, but have been outside in 100-105 degree weather. Are we good to keep and eat these? We have no Roos, so there will be no surprises inside.

I wouldn't think they are safe to keep. Sorry.

We do have a rooster and you can get some pretty gross eggs after just one day.

We regularly leave our eggs out for a few days with no problem at all since they are not fertilized and it is regularly in the 90's here. The extreme heat this past week is my concern. Would I be able to smell them if I cracked a bad one?

Can't you put them in water and see if they float? I thought that was a way to tell if they were rotten. If they sink they are good.
That only tells you about the age. Not whether or not it's rotten.

I recommend just hard boiling them and then feeding them to your chicken. You can just mash them slight shells and all and feed back to the hens. Protein + calcium
