My Millie Fleur eggs arrived this week and i set them in the bator late last night. I have 33 eggs in a bator and 5 under my hen Itty Bitty (she is one crazy broody mamma!) I had 39 eggs total but one arrived cracked so I am down to 38! I will keep you updated on my progress!

Hatch Date: March 3, 2010
Day 1 - temp GREAT! Humidity a little low, but still climbing
Day 2 - I made my egg turner functional without a motor until the replacement arrived. When DH Was turning the eggs he went too far and they all spilled out of the turner! Luckily none cracked! I took them all out, put them in cartons while hubby installed the new motor on the turner. I quickly reset the eggs in the turner and got them back up to temp. I hope that the 3 min they were out of the bator will not kill them, I hope that since it was only day 2 it would not cause too much of a problem! Got the turner in and working and the temperature and humidity are spot on . . .

I'm right here with you, dfc! I set eggs last night from my hens: 5 Ameraucana, 2 Polish/Silkie crosses (white silkie roo, gold laced Polish hens), 5 Easter Eggers (from my black and blue Ameraucana hens and white Bantam cochin roo), and 1 silkie from my black roo and splash hen. So we should be hatching the same date!

I also have 4 eggs (1 of each previously described) under my famously broody RIR bantam girl, Dalilah. I gave her those last weekend, so I'm looking at the 27th of this month for those.

Good luck on your hatch, and I'll be excited watching your updates! - Suz

Yes! I did it Sunday night, and in 10 of the 13 eggs I'm positive I see LOTS of veining. Three I'm not completely sure of - and they are darker green and blue eggs that are harder to see inside of. The two white Polish/Silkie cross eggs gave me the best view.

Dalilah became unbroody after I made the mistake of moving her to a different coop for some peace and then having to move her back because it didn't work out. So, those four are done.

I'm happy for you!!
