My two barnyard surprises look to be either RIRs or possibly sex-links, if that's the case then they're both hens. One lavender americana EXPLODED from the shell yesterday - at 10AM there was a pip, at 3PM there was a chick running around. Another egg is peeping but has not pipped, and that leaves 3 to hurry up and do something.

I bought auto sexing chocolate orp bantams, from ebay , the girls are chocolate and boys are black, now pinning my hopes on the last 3 eggs.
One of them is a cross between rir and warren, the other 5 were infertile, the girls are buff and boys are yellow, guess what I got, a yellow one !!

YEAH FUZZY BUTTS!

I woke up to a little yellow fuzzy this morning, and came home on my lunch break to check on the others and found two more!

First hatch ever... so far 3 out of 4. Must be doin' something right!

Ahhhh so excited! Pics to follow.
