I'm unsure what to do.
I have 2 eggs that are meant to hatch on Thursday, so lockdown tomorrow. Yesterday I was given 9 more eggs on day 9 or 10 of incubation, they will hatch on the 12.
I only have 2 eggs that seem alive and are meant to hatch on Thursday. I don't know why the others suddenly died after day 14.
I have a homemade still air incubator that I must leave the cover off a little to keep the temperature right - 100-101F . I've filled it up with water bottles to stabilize the temperature as it was fluctuating. This may be why the other eggs died.
So now I'm in a dilemma, I will be in lockdown for three days while there are other eggs needing to be turned 3 times daily.
I've been going dry and will need to increase the humidity tomorrow. I'm not sure how to meet both eggs needs.
I also already need to keep the cover open a bit so that the temperature isn't too high.
I'm thinking of leaving the cover open on the eggs needing to hatch on the 12.(On the left)
The 2 eggs will be in the middle. The water pan with sponge in on the right under the lightbulb to increase humidity. Any other ideas as to how to ensure the hatching eggs will have the humidity they need when I need to turn the other eggs?
Wrap a wet paper towel around the eggs? Is that a good idea? or will that lower the egg temperature too much?
thanks
I'll try to take a picture tomorrow.
