So the past couple days I've found Daisy's egg in the run. But she still goes in the nest to lay as if she isn't aware that she dropped it out already. Looks like she dropped it out on the way to the nest?

Yesterday's egg was a bit soft and had broken open (thank God they hadn't eaten it).
Today's was a hard egg but not as dark as her normal one?

So what's making her loos her eggs yet she still goes in to lay?

I gave her some yogurt yesterday hoping that would help for today's egg.
No one was in the nest so she wasn't waiting for the other girls to come out.
And she stays in the nest a long while then comes out singing as if she's laid?

Do you feed your hens oyster shells? That could be the cause of the soft egg....as far as her laying outside, it could just be a fluke deal but I don't know that for sure. I have a hen that likes to sneak eggs into the duck house or in the corner of my goat barn...but that's a bit different situation since its premediated.
