eggs in

Putting my first 6 eggs in the bator in the morning - yippy! They are black copper Marans. Will be getting more eggs next week so I have ordered a second hova-bator for hatching. very eggciting!!! Can't wait to candle. BTW - it must be hard to candle such dark brown eggs no?

Concrats on your eggs, I wish you the best of luck with them.

How I candled mine was, either a clay flower pot with a light bulb under the pot so the light shone up thro the hole or I would just use my regular egg candler. They are bit harder to candle, but it can be done. Plus I made sure it was pitch black in the room when I did it also.........................

Or a tin can will work also, something that is solid with a small hole in it............good luck............
