A few weeks ago I had two chickens mysteriously die (presented like cocci, but was comfirmed not), and in an unthinking move grabbed 12 eggs out of the nest and put them in an incubator. After three days of doing it all wrong, and extensive research, I corrected the mistakes I could, but was waiting on a hydrometer for the humidity. Turns out, running dry at my house holds 35% in the incubator. At a week I candled and found 2 with stuck yolks, 2 clear, 2 maybes, and 6 definitely. Fast forward to day 18, with only the 6 that showed promise, and they all looked great. Day 20 4/6 pipped, zipped, and hatched. Overnight 5 followed and 6 has pipped. I know technically its a 50% hatch rate, but since only 6 showed promise from the beginning, I'm counting this as a win!
