Chirping
I was raised on farm fresh eggs, and have been buying unwashed farm fresh eggs from a co-worker for years before my girls first laid their eggs.
I've never noticed eggs smelling like anything but eggs, but today the smelled so much like the chicken feed that I couldn't eat them. Now these were the liter first through fourth eggs my Australorps ever laid that I fried up this morning. My husband noticed the smell too and it was the worst on the double yoker.
I don't recall ever having a chickens first eggs before, so I'm hoping someone will tell me this is just a puberty issue and the smell will work itself eloht as my girls mature.
Other thoughts? Nutrition? I'm just starting to ferment my first batch of feed but they haven't tried any yet. They get an 18% layer mash, black oil sunflower seeds in moderation, a few meal worms every morning, and then mostly just produce scraps I'm not giving them any meat as of yet.
