These are the eggs my ladies left for me today... I wish I knew who laid the giant one so I could give her a hug and a treat.

Buff or RIR
I don't have either of those. I have two tetra Browns and two Amber Browns that could have laid it. I think the Amber browns may be the ones laying the giant eggs but they always lay before I'm out so I haven't caught them. Every egg I've seen laid by a tetra was normal size. I've thought about painting their vents, but it doesn t happen very often.

Ayyyy, I was half correct, the Tetra Browns and Amber Browns are made from RIRs

Oh, ok. That makes sense. I knew they were a cross of something, but wasn't sure after reading conflicting stories.

Yea I was gonna say the shell looks a little too dark for a buff and was gonna guess red star, isa brown, whatever you happen to call the commercial layer lol

What laid your blue, white and green egg?
THANK YOU!!! I wasn't quite sure if the one on the right was green or blue.. so I'm happy to have an impartial person see it as green too.
The blue one was a white egger, we have 2 that are identical so I just call them the Puffers. It's one of the 2 in the first pic.
The white one came from a sebright bantam, Ash. 2nd pic
And the green one is from another egger, Damon. This is her 4th egg, I believe. The first one looked like a very pale blue/ white. The second one was blue but the shell was weird, like when I tapped on it, it sounded like porcelain. 3rd pic, she's the one on the right by herself, pecking at the floor.
I have 2 other eggers, another white and one like Damon, but w/ red instead of blonde on her neck, but they aren't laying just yet.
We have 12 girls, and the most we've gotten is 7 eggs in one day so far. I think my amber & tetra browns are taking turns laying. I know 1 for sure is my partridge rock, and I believe 1 came from my delaware based on where it was laid. The giant one and the one next to it came from the browns. I also have an australorp who just laid her first egg on Monday that was weird, but I suspect it's b/c it's her first egg. 4th pic.
I was told my high production layers need more protein to lay every day, but I'm waiting until my feed bin is empty before buying higher protein feed... I don't want old feed getting buried in the bottom over winter.
