Eggs not hatching

I have two EE eggs that are at day 25 under my hen. There is no pecking inside and when I tilt them from side to side there is a thud sound. I have tried candling them but do not have a bright enough flash light. Are they alive in there or not?

It doesn't sound good, but I am new at this also. My hen hatched 3 of the 4 eggs she had under her. The 4th one she abandoned and let get cold. When I checked it, ( shook it) it felt like there was a little ball inside of it. seems to me that's an egg that stopped growing.

No, sorry. Those eggs have quit. Can you find some day-old chicks for your hen to adopt?
