My goose has started laying again. I thought the laying season was over; I collected 40-50 eggs between Jan. 13th and June 19th.

But since last Wednesday I've found four eggs. She also built a new nest.

Is this the spring season just starting way early?

Not that I'm complaining, I love goose eggs!

No she must have molted early, and kicked in her "fall lay" it wont last long so if you want goslings incubate them, but she will stop once it gets cold

Thank you. August and September have been cold, windy and rainy here. Then we got a week of Indian summer, so I was guessing maybe the goose felt winter had come and gone.

Well, the eggs are probably not fertile since I only have the one goose and no gander

. I didn't know there was such a thing as fall lay, but I'm sure going to enjoy every egg. It almost feels like Christmas in July! Thank you for explaining!

she probably did since they can't read, I have never eaten a goose egg since I only have a gander, I bet that one egg would feed 2 people ?

I found ours to be showing signs of courtship behaviour but not as intense as Springtime. Now the nights are drawing in and its cooling down the behaviour has stopped. So no late eggs for us
