We have lost three Bantam hens to a hawk. I thought we had just lost number four. We were watering and found her in the garden with nine eggs. She loves her rooster, so we put them in a safe pen. She won't get back on the eggs and they are cold. If she gets back on will they hatch?

No I don't and I checked and she is not in the box with the eggs. It's been hours since she was on them---is there any hope?

have you candled them yet? See if they're far along or if they're even fertile. I'd put them in a box with a hot water bottle if they have embryos and then try to go get an incubator today if you want to hatch them.

Do you know how long she has been setting on them?
If she's really broody she will get back on them.
Give her a few days in the pen.

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.

It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!
