Hi, so i have a silkie who this is her first time being broody. She was sitting on 8 eggs, but 5 eggs never made it passed the second week. So she would push them out and i would throw them away, and they would explode and smell once i tossed them out. Now its day 22 and she is still with her 3 eggs. But shes not really sitting on them, she just stand over them. And they are starting to smell when i pick them up to look at them. When i had candled them a couple days ago the eggs where all black and the bottom had that little air sack. I cant really see any viens due to how dark the egg looks. But on one egg i can see very little viens. But i dont see any movement on any of them. And since she isnt really sitting on them, just kinda has her body hovered over them they are getting cold. What should i do? Should i throw them out or leave them? Sometimes i hear her making lirtle sounds, but idk if shes doing it to the eggs, or what.

Or they may be ready to hatch. One of the chicks may have died inside. Are they warm? You could crack the egg at the air sac end. You will be able to tell if they are dead or alive. If they are alive, have a warm wet paper towel, wrap the egg and follow the instructions on the website for assisting the hatch.

Im so nervous, i dont wanna toss them out and they could be alive still, but i also dont want them to explode
