Eggs on the ground

I have found eggs just laying on the ground instead of the nesting box not every day but just in the last month there has been like 5 or something like that. Sometimes the egg has a thin shell but some of them look fine.
I haven't noticed wich hen who layed it or If some of them acted different.
I have four hens and usually get 3 eggs a day in the nesting box.
All of the hens usually lay eggs in the nesting box.
I'm pretty sure they have all been in the nesting box lately but not quite sure if the layed eggs

Do anyone know why and can I eat the eggs?

Might have been kicked from the box. The box might have been occupied and it was urgent. If the egg is otherwise fine, I see no reason for it not to be edible.

If there are no cracks, not covered in poo, not sitting in any moisture/wet area and collected within a reasonable time frame then eggs off of the ground are safe to eat.

They're completely edible unless they're broken or you don't know how long it's been there.
Sometimes chickens just lay suddenly or eggs get stuck to their fluff and carried around before they fall off.
