eggs outside the coop/run partially buried

I've found a few broken eggs in the last few weeks, but the weirder thing is the two separate eggs I've found partially buried in the mulch around trees in my yard - in a place where no chickens can go. Not sure how the eggs got outside the coop and partially buried. Any thoughts?
