Eggs through the mail

Hi there. :frow

You need to be NPIP certified in order to legally ship hatching eggs or chicks across state lines. Different states set their own required testing guidelines.

Contacting your county department of agriculture is probably a good place to start.

Good luck, and thank you for looking to do it right! It helps protect both our national food supply chain AND back yard flocks! :fl

There are different levels of NPIP certification. For interstate shipping the shipper must meet the requirements of the receiving state. The shippers state doesn't mean diddly.

The challenge is that those states that have an effective NPIP program it will start with P/T testing. There's not been a new lot of P/T antigen released by Charles Rivers since 2018. I'm a certified tester for the state of Texas. Texas now has a program to recertify expired lots. So that will be your first hurdle. Finding a tester that has the antigen and wont take your first born as payment.

So what you are saying is find a person like you that is a certified tester and give them free chicks or eggs? And you tell the state if I am approved or not
