We only have 2 RI Red chickens.
One is a prolific layer.
The other will lay eggs with a nice firm shell at times and at other times she will drop eggs without shells.
By that I mean eggs with the membrane only, on hard shell.
The have laying pellets and oyster shells available.
What is going on with her?

how old? if she's just growing up into a hen, she's probably just going through chicken puberty. no big deal 🤷‍♀️

They are a little lest than a year old.
As far as treats, they get a little hen scratch and a little stale bread.
BTW, they are free range. They run around on the property.

yes mine are freerange hens also, but one hen has been laying for 6months insists on dropping an egg with no shell. i have fed her extra calcium powder and shellgrit but this is not working.

I need advice to what i can give her so i get proper hard shell on her eggs please.
I feed them the grain mix of Red Hen.... HELP!
