Hi all! I have a Maran that's been laying eggs for a month now. This week or so, she's been laying eggs without shells. I've mixed oyster shells in the food, placed it in a separate dish, and still no luck. My Plymouth Rock is having no trouble laying good eggs. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks in advance! :)

Never mix a calcium source with feed. Then they will have no choice. It's possible for even layers to have too much calcium.
It needs to be properly balanced with phosphorus, D3 and to a lesser extent, manganese for good shell quality.
So both a deficiency and an excess can affect shell quality. Excess calcium will decrease phosphorus availability and reduce feed intake, which will affect shell quality, as well as egg production.

Shell-less eggs can also be from influenza or egg drop syndrome.
