Eggs

I have a question for all you chicken savy people. I know chickens are supposed to stop laying or slow down in the winter, but my girls seem to be doing the opposite. It’s getting dark around 4:00pm here in NH and I don’t supplement light. Some days I get an egg a chicken and other days I get less. Well the day after I get less I usually get more eggs than chickens. One day I got 7 eggs and today I got 6, I only have 5 chickens. Is this normal?

I'm assuming by your avatar you have Leghorns. Those are really good layers, which is probably why you are getting 2 eggs from 1 hen sometimes.
