Eggs

Yes, I did try hatching eggs in an incubator. Unfortunately none of my hens are broody. I'm not sure which one of my hens it is, but if I leave the eggs in the coop, they'll get eaten 😭 I hatched one chick- but it shortly died afterwards. The rest I had incubating just didn't hatch even though there were blood vessels in the eggs after the first few days. It just became too heart breaking.

When getting the eggs after laying, do you immediately put them in the refridgerator?

Hi all. I've officially given up on hatching and raising eggs. The whole experience just didn't go well for me. I've considered just eating the eggs and possibly selling fresh eggs, but however, I have a rooster with 3 hens. That being said, I have a few questions. Are they safe to eat? And if so, pros and cons to starting selling fresh eggs? Thanks!
One thing that works for me. I only have about 2-3 customers. I get 4 eggs on most days. I offer a dozen for $3 but if you return a carton you get a discount of 50 cents. Cartons at TSC cost 59 cents.

Not for long. And the mustard and hot sauce doesn't work either. Two of my most notorious birds love mustard/hot sauce. I think my chickens have Alziehiemers. short term memory loss. If I do the mustard/hotsauce thingy I'd lose as many eggs from that as I do from eating. Funny thing is if I'm home they will eat if I don't go out often enough. I've never really figured out what is too long or short. If I'm gone all day I will find 3-4 eggs intact. Some of my hens won't lay in a box with a ceramic egg in it. Some shove them out of the box. Some "go broody" over them etc. I've stepped on a couple because they are now laying on the coop floor. Going to a roll out method as soon as my carpenter friend will work out side.
