Why do we criticize range of prices.....I paid so much for my baby chicks. Because I'm literally flooded with eggs, I've lowered my prices since last year but they are over $20 per dozen. Our eggs and our chicks are not junk.....I wish I had more time to take photos...It's hard because we full time farm..I just don't understand why BCM's prices are being so trashed in this thread. There are all kinds of quality of BCM's available....I've seen some eggs shown to me by some folks that look like a RIR egg at the very beginning of their cycle.

I am saddened by the attack on this breed as I've been very satisfied with our flock, their offspring and our eggs. I've seen what some offer and it's sad. There will be some who want to put a BCM rooster over anything and call it a BCM chick....It isn't. Please I recommend that you do your research if you are interested in this breed and try very hard to realize that this is an investment of time and resources by those who are working with this breed.

I've seen photos on our area's Craigslist and when I called to ask more about lineage, the owner just obviously couldn't tell me anything and was mumbling around to say that they were Wade Henry's....oops....I asked where he bought them and he said Wade and I asked where Wade lived, he said he "forgot" but he had just told me he bought 20 hens and 5 roosters a few months ago....I said that I was sorry he forgot because I was interested in his flock and then he said wait I meant Jesse Henry....Then I said okay well I'll try to find him But the worst of all was when he finally said, oh no, it's Stocker Channing:) I had to get off the phone early on that call as I erupted into such a laugh!

I think that if you are simply interested in a brown egg and don't care how brown, or care about the proposed standards or how the animals are cared for, you probably can find $20 a dozen eggs, but that's your call.... I just hate to see a flame again BCM's or any other bird type. It's happened on other posts in the past and hope this thread doesn't "erupt" like past ones have.

A bird, a chick, an egg, a dress, a haircut is worth what is valued by the buyer. When I bought my little chicks at over $15 each, it was a big investment to this little small farmer. My only regret is that I didn't buy more. Have a blessed day and if you're ever out in our area, I'd be honored to show you our eggs, our chicks and our poultry.

Oh well, I'm rid of them, and didn't have to process them!

Hey, have you seen how many people use mossy, orange, blonde, or squirrel tailed boys and girls in their BREEDING flock and sell them for $60 a dozen?
